This full day Rope Access course will equip you with the know-how to deal with exposed climbing areas that can only be reached from above, by rappeling/abseiling in, as provide you with the tools to multi-pitch as well.

Climbing over the ocean comes with a unique set of challenges, including new manoeuvres and different access techniques. This is the case with many of our regions’ coastal climbing areas.

We start the first day in the morning with a ground class where you’ll learn to identify proper protection gear, building anchors on fixed points, abseiling and belaying a climber from above.

After a light lunch break, we’ll head to one of the most breathtaking climbing areas of the Portuguese coast. Here, you’ll apply and practice all the skills gained earlier in the day.

This will include finding anchor points and then build anchors with different configurations and types of equipment. Thereafter, you’ll be rappelling/abseiling down to a small outcrop a few meters over the ocean.

You’ll then be climbing a few routes, finishing at each anchor and applying the steps to secure yourself and belay a second climber from above.

The second day is spent on the rocks, further consolidating the learned skills and gaining confidence.

In brief, after this rope access course, you will set climbs with confidence on any sport climbing location with top access.
