Lead Climbing Course
We designed our 2 day lead climbing course to equip you with all the skills to be an independent sport climber. Markedly one of the most exciting steps on the road to becoming autonomous!
Firstly, we’ll start with a morning of theory and rope practice, learning about proper gear use as its maintenance, providing an insight into the history and ethics of rock climbing.
In addition, you’ll learn to identify different anchor systems and master essential knots. Besides this, we’ll cover vital aspects of lead climbing, belaying and rope maneuvers.
Afterwards, we’ll be spending the afternoon at one of the region’s crags to apply and train all the gained knowledge.
The whole second day includes more real life practice, further honing your technical and mental abilities.
In conclusion, these will include fundamental skills like belaying a leader, lead climbing and falling, abandoning an unfinished route and cleaning anchors.
In brief, this is for sure a class where you won’t fall asleep! Besides, we can conduct it in several unique and beautiful locations, adjusting to your preferences and place of stay.
*Prerequisite: Completion of the Top Rope course or consent of your outdoor program coordinator.
